Andy Shi

Andy Shi has a diverse work background, starting with their role as a Food Service and Management employee at their family's restaurant. During this time, they developed strong customer service and business management skills.

From 2010 to 2012, Andy worked as a Web Developer Intern for the MSD of Wayne Township, maintaining their website and enhancing various sub-websites with modern web technologies.

Andy then joined Purdue University in 2012 as a Project Leader, where they led the EPICS Web-based Interactive Software Engineering Team for four semesters. During this time, they designed and launched a web application portal for a national non-profit organization.

In 2015, Andy became a Software Developer at Rook (acquired by Sophos), where they developed software to identify threats and collaborated with law enforcement agencies to create countermeasure tools against cyber attacks.

Andy's next role was as a Platform Engineer at ClearScholar (Acquired by Civitas Learning), where they led the development of the Butler University iOS/Android app, achieving high adoption rates and student satisfaction. Andy also built and migrated their API endpoints to improve scalability.

In 2016, they took on the role of Tech Fellow at High Alpha, where they worked until 2018, gaining valuable experience in the technology startup space.

Andy then joined Structural as a Senior Software Engineer in 2017, leading the development on the Structural iOS/Android platform. Andy mentored a team of frontend engineers and oversaw the growth of the platform from its beta release to over 100k monthly active users.
