David Lord has been a civic leader and nonprofit champion in the community for many years. He is a graduate from Rollins College in 1969 with BA in Political Science and an MBA from the Rollins Crummer Business School in 1971. For most of his professional life, he worked in higher education financial administration which included 7 years as the Business Manager at Rollins and 19 years as Business Manager at Colorado College. He did spend three years with the Griffis Group in Denver helping develop real estate investment funds for acquisition of multifamily housing before retiring in 2009. He currently serves as Trustee of the Rollins College, Board Chair of the Global Livingston Institute and Penrose St Francis Hospital Foundation, and President of the RNR Family Foundation. He has been a great advocate and supporter of Rollins College Community Engagement Programs and getting students involved in their communities. He has committed much of his time working on issues related to aging and helped found Innovations in Aging Collaborative and now volunteers for Silver Key answering the information line. He is Co-Chair of the Age-Friendly Colorado Springs and El Paso County Steering Committee. His commitment to affordable housing has helped Silver Key move forward with its Silver Key Senior Apartments. His work on aging issues was recognized by Senior Resource Council as the 2022 Joe Henjum Award as volunteer of the year.
