Niek Mereu

Niek Mereu has had diverse work experience in the field of data science and machine learning. They started their career as an Assistant Exchange Coordinator at Leiden University in 2015, where they helped international students and fostered relationships with international universities. In 2018, they joined Gemeente Leiden as a Data Scientist/Statistician at the Urban Data Center, where they worked on data science projects, including modeling future bicycle storage needs and predicting CO2 emissions based on urban data characteristics. In 2019, they transitioned to O2 Czech Republic as a Data Scientist. Currently, Niek works at STRV as a Machine Learning Engineer, specializing in natural language processing, computer vision, audio, and recommendation systems.

From 2016 to 2019, Niek Mereu pursued a Master's degree in Statistics at Leiden University.
