Sofia Antonopoulou

Sofia Antonopoulou is an accomplished Staff Research and Development Engineer at Stryker, with extensive expertise in product and process design related to braided devices such as flow diverting stents and catheters. Prior to Stryker, Sofia worked as a researcher at University College Dublin, specializing in the design and characterization of Basalt Fibre Reinforced Polymer composites, engaging in mechanical testing and finite element analysis. Earlier roles include positions at Burgmann Packings Composites, University of Athens, and NaviMe Ltd, where Sofia gained experience in manufacturing engineering, raw materials characterization, and GIS software. Sofia holds an MSc in Materials Science and Engineering from National Technical University of Athens and a BSc in Geology and Geo-Environment from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
