Steve Scherf serves as the Vice President of Engineering for Artificial Intelligence at Stryker since September 2021 and holds the title of Vice President of Advanced Technology. In addition, Steve is a Founding Board Member of Exa Health, focused on integrating AI into home diagnostics. Prior to Stryker, Steve was the Chief Technology Officer at Gauss Surgical, overseeing diverse areas including AI/CV research and a substantial patent portfolio. Steve co-founded Gracenote, acting as Chief R&D Officer, and was integral in developing media recognition technologies. Earlier in Steven's career, roles included Principal Engineer at Stratus Computer and Tech Lead positions at Acer and Altos Computer Systems, specializing in Unix kernel and device driver development. Steve earned Bachelor's degrees in Math and Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
