Afonso Rodrigues

Afonso Rodrigues is a Data Scientist currently employed at Stuart since July 2022, focusing on the development of machine learning-enabled prediction services. Prior experience includes work at CEiiA, where Afonso developed and tuned predictive machine learning and reinforcement learning models for Mobility-as-a-Service providers, alongside research on quantum computational algorithms for hyperparameter optimization. Afonso also served as a Teaching Assistant at Universidade do Minho, where responsibilities included planning and teaching practical course materials for a Quantum Computation course, and held a Research Fellowship to apply quantum algorithms to real-world problems. Earlier roles include a Research Assistant at INESC Technology and Science and serving as an Assessor in an External Accreditation Committee for A3ES. Afonso holds an Integrated Master's degree in Engineering Physics from Universidade do Minho and was a PhD student in the MAP-i Doctoral Programme in Computer Science.
