MIKpunt is the study association for Medische Informatiekunde and Medical Informatics (MI) students at the UvA. The association was founded on the 1st of October 1996 and counts about 160 members. We keep ourselves busy with both MI-related and social activities. The MI-related activities MIKpunt organises a netwerking event and a student-teacher get-together. At the netwerking event students can get to know the business community and create connections for possible internships or jobs. At the student-teacher get-together everyone can enjoy a drink and can talk to teacher about both study and not-study related topics. MIKpunt also organises multiple social, not-study related activities. Just to make sure the MI-students from the different years can get to know each other and do something fun together besides studying.  Annually reoccuring activities are, for example, our sport activit, pub crawl and end of year party. The annual educationprize is also awarded to the best clinical informatics teacher, best healthcare teacher, best master teacher and best module. In 2015 the prize for best clinical informatics teacher went to  dr. F.P. Voorbraak, where he was also named best teacher at the faculty of healthcare at the UvA.
