Simo Verta

Simo Verta is an experienced nuclear safety professional with a robust background in operational safety and nuclear reactor regulation. Currently serving as a Senior Inspector at STUK - Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority since June 2015, Verta has held various roles within the organization, including Section Head and Inspector, focusing on nuclear reactor regulation. Prior experience includes a consultancy position at ÅF-Consult Ltd, where Verta led the basic design development of the Spent Fuel Complementary Storage Unit project for Eletrobras Eletronuclear in Brazil. Verta also served as a Reactor Engineer at Teollisuuden Voima Oy, providing technical support, refueling strategies, and operator training, as well as a Project Engineer at Platom Oy, where Verta designed a sampling system for radioactive sludge. Verta's academic background includes a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from LUT University.
