Alex Aitchison

Alex Aitchison has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. From 2018 to present, Alex worked as a Social Media Manager at STV Group plc, where they led a team in developing social and online strategies, producing content, and conducting interviews for various platforms.

Prior to that, from 2012 to present, Alex was self-employed as a freelance designer and photographer, specializing in portraiture and journalistic photography. Alex worked with various clients and had their work published in prestigious publications.

From 2017 to 2018, Alex worked as a Digital Marketing Executive at itison, focusing on copywriting and content creation for digital member acquisition campaigns.

From 2015 to 2017, Alex served as a Digital Content Producer & Administrator for the Scottish National Party (SNP), managing, producing, and distributing content for the party's digital platforms. They also worked on graphic, photographic, and video content with elected representatives.

In 2014-2015, Alex worked on the development and marketing of an augmented reality app for Art Retail Network, building relationships with artists and organizations.

As Official Photographer for the Edinburgh International Festival in 2015, Alex documented the festival and provided images for use online and in print.

From 2012 to 2015, Alex held the role of National Organiser & Photographer for National Collective/Documenting Yes, where they directed and edited content, organized events, and ran a political campaign.

Earlier in their career, Alex also worked as a playworker and temporary art tutor for Aberdeenshire Council from 2008 to 2011, and as a youth worker for Aberdeen City Council in 2010.

Alex Aitchison attended Westhill Academy from 2004 to 2010. Afterward, from 2010 to 2014, they studied at Robert Gordon University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Communication.
