Blaga Baycheva

Blaga Baycheva has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Blaga began their career in journalism as a Crime Reporter at 24 Hours Daily in 2000. Blaga later took on the role of Senior Reporter and Deputy Team Leader at the same company from 2005 to 2010. Afterward, Baycheva joined Sofia Court, Bulgaria, as a PR and Communication Manager from 2010 to 2012.

In 2012, they returned to 24 Hours Daily as a Senior Editor and Commentator, where they worked until 2016. Baycheva then transitioned to the role of Social Media Specialist at Kura from 2017 to 2019.

Their interest in data science led their to pursue a career change, and they joined LV= General Insurance in 2021 as a Graduate Data Scientist. Blaga then moved to STV Group plc in 2022, where they currently work as a Data Scientist.

Throughout their career, Baycheva has gained valuable experience in journalism, public relations, communications, social media, and data science.

In 1991-1996, Blaga Baycheva attended an Italian language school where they obtained their high school degree, specializing in Italian Language and Literature.

From 1996 to 2001, they attended the University of Veliko Turnovo "St. Cyril and St. Methodius" and earned a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies/Critical Theory and Analysis.

From 2004 to 2006, Blaga Baycheva pursued a Master's degree in International Political Relations and Security at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".

Most recently, in 2019-2020, they attended the University of Strathclyde and completed a Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence and Applications.

In addition to their formal education, Blaga Baycheva has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include certifications in Azure Spark Databricks Essential Training and Apache Spark Essential Training from LinkedIn, as well as certifications in Azure Machine Learning Development, SQL for Data Science, Git for Developers Using Github, and Getting Started with Power BI Desktop from various online platforms. Blaga has also completed courses in Visualizing Citibike Trips with Tableau from Coursera Course Certificates and Digital Marketing and SEO from Software University (softuni.bg). Additionally, they obtained a certification in HTML 5 and CSS3 from Telerik Academy by Progress.
