Iain Murray

Iain Murray has a strong background in cloud infrastructure and virtualization engineering. Iain started their career as a Software Developer at BiP Solutions Ltd, where they delivered Java web-based applications using agile development methodologies. Iain then moved on to Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where they worked as a Build Engineer, managing Windows Server environments and overseeing the deployment of small data center environments. Iain also gained experience in managing storage area networks and server patching. After that, Iain joined DXC Technology as a Virtualization Engineer, where they automated deployments of vSphere. Iain later worked at Redeem Group as an AWS DevOps Engineer, before joining STV Group plc as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for the day-to-day management, design, and troubleshooting of STV's digital cloud infrastructure, using various AWS services such as EC2, ECS, CloudFront, S3, and more. Iain also has experience in load testing cloud infrastructure using Apache JMeter.

Iain Murray obtained their BSC in Computing in Information Systems Development from Glasgow Caledonian University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications, including the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2022, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional from AWS in July 2021, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in July 2018, and the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate from AWS in July 2020.
