Kathryn Samson

Kathryn Samson is an experienced journalist currently serving as the Scotland Correspondent for Channel 4 since July 2023. Prior to this role, Kathryn has worked as the Westminster Correspondent for STV Group plc since January 2019, where extensive coverage and analysis of events at Westminster focusing on their impact on Scotland is provided, including conducting interviews with key political figures. From January 2012 to January 2019, Kathryn held the position of Westminster Editor at ITV, after previously working as a Political Reporter and Presenter during significant political events such as the 2014 independence referendum and the 2016 EU referendum. Kathryn's journalism career began at BBC News, where the role as a Broadcast Journalist at BBC Scotland involved producing TV and radio bulletins. Academically, Kathryn holds a Master of Arts degree in English and History from the University of Glasgow and has completed a Broadcast Journalism program at Cardiff University.
