Laura Piper

Laura Piper has a diverse work experience. Laura started their career in 2006 as a Production Journalist at UKTV - Talk107. In 2008, they worked as a Scottish Prisons Commision for The Scottish Government, where they were responsible for running public engagement events across Scotland. Later, in 2008, they joined Feisty Productions as an Assistant Producer, producing a weekly live BBC politics and current affairs show. From 2009 to 2011, Laura worked as a Charity Project Worker at Includem. Finally, since 2011, Laura has been associated with STV Group, where they have held multiple roles including Climate Correspondent, relief weather presenter, self-shooting broadcast journalist, and video editor. Laura also worked as an Assistant Producer on the show "Sean's Scotland series" in 2019.

Laura Piper has a strong education history in journalism. Laura obtained a Masters degree in Journalism from Harvard University from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a BA Hons in Journalism from Edinburgh Napier University from 2004 to 2008. In addition to their degrees, Laura has also obtained several certifications. These include "Science: The Weather" from The Open University in August 2019, "Production Safety Passport" from ACTION MEDIA SAFETY LTD. in November 2018, "Auschwitz – History, Memory and Media Responsibility" from Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in October 2017, "BBC Journalism and Production Ethics" from the BBC in January 2008, "BBC Production Guidelines" from Ofcom in January 2008, and "Shorthand 100 words per minute" from Napier University in January 2007.
