Jo Murphy has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 1999 at Contra Integrated Creative Services, Jo worked as a Planner/Art Director, focusing on mobile and tech adoption strategies. They were responsible for market analysis, social studies, and planning and executing the launch of several mobile innovations.
In 2004, Jo joined Coutts Retail Communications as a Creative Account Director, where they developed and delivered impactful marketing collateral for gaming and entertainment clients.
In 2008, Jo became a Senior Consultant at GDR Creative Intelligence, working with leading brands to provide consumer and market trend insights. They oversaw the US region, delivering engaging presentations and workshops to clients such as Apple, P&G, Sony, and Starwood Hotels.
Jo joined Stylus in 2011 as the Head of Strategic Accounts, collaborating closely with global clients to shape trend, insight, and innovation agendas.
Most recently, Jo joined Brunel University London in 2020 as a Lecturer in Design Innovation & Branding Futures, contributing to the Masters Programme.
Jo Murphy has a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing. They have also completed a Short Course in Graphic Design/Mac Skills at the University of the Arts London. In addition, Jo holds a BSc(Hons) degree in Environmental Health from the University of Leeds. Furthermore, Jo has obtained certifications in Design Thinking for Innovation from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and in Innovation Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
