James Herron

James Herron is an experienced professional in marine operations and engineering support, currently serving as Managing Director of Marine Operations at SubCom since July 2006. In this role, James oversees the management, operations, and engineering support for the company's cable ship fleet, undersea vehicles, and marine facilities. Prior to SubCom, James held significant positions at Tyco Telecommunications, including Director of Maintenance Administration and Senior Manager of Marine Operations, where responsibilities included the global management of cable repair and maintenance operations. James began his career at AT&T as a Merchant Marine Officer, progressing to Chief Officer and Third Assistant Engineer on deep sea cable ships. Educational credentials include a Certificate in Financial Management from The Wharton School and an MBA from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College.
