Steve James

Steve James is a seasoned professional in the telecommunications and marine survey sectors, currently serving as a Client Representative at WFN Strategies, LLC since August 2024 and concurrently working with TE SubCom as a Client Rep / Cable Engineer and EIC since December 2016. With a rich background in cable surveying, Steve has been a freelance Cable Surveyor since August 2016 and holds extensive experience as a WinFrog Cable Operator for FUGRO PELAGOS, INC. since May 2016. Previous roles include Field Surveyor, Data Processor, and Reports Coordinator at DOF Subsea, along with significant positions at Thales Geosolutions and Racal Pelagos, where expertise in fiber optic cable laying was developed. Earlier career roots trace back to P&O Cruises, where Steve progressed from Cadet to Second Mate on various vessels. Steve holds degrees in Geomatics and Nautical Science from British Columbia Institute of Technology and Glasgow Nautical College, respectively, further complemented by an ongoing creative pursuit as the owner and artist at SJ Studios.
