John Rood has over 30 years of experience in marketing and leadership roles. John most recently served as the Vice President of Marketing at Subject, a Beverly Hills-based learning platform. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2023, they worked as a Marketing Consultant, providing strategic advice to various media companies, tech start-ups, creative agencies, and non-profits. During this time, they also acted as the Chief Marketing Officer for Binj, a B2B entertainment content analysis platform.
From 2022 to 2023, Rood held the position of Chief Marketing Officer at Impact Theory, where they developed engagement strategies, creative materials, and growth initiatives for the media studio. John was instrumental in growing the company's community and revenue.
Before that, Rood spent a significant portion of their career at The Walt Disney Company, where they held positions such as Senior Vice President of Marketing for Disney Channels Worldwide and Senior Vice President of Marketing for ABC Family. In these roles, they led engagement strategies, creative development, events, and social media growth initiatives. John successfully restored the Disney brand's ratings and viewership.
Rood also held executive roles at Warner Bros. Entertainment, serving as the Executive Vice President of Sales Marketing Business Development for DC Entertainment. John was responsible for unleashing the DC Comics properties across all Warner Bros. divisions.

John Rood has a diverse education history. In 1987, they attended the Texas McCombs School of Business and earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Marketing. John continued their education in 2003 at Harvard Business School Executive Education, where they completed a Summer Business Strategy Program and received a Certificate. Prior to these achievements, they attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 1983 to 1987 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Speech Communication.
