Patrick Berens has a long history of software engineering experience. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, where they developed a new automated testing framework for all legacy servers across a worldwide fleet of EC2 servers, successfully spec'd a project and mentored an intern from first day to offer, and represented their team within a multi-team group designing and implementing a scalable distributed metric service to be run across millions of EC2 servers. Since 2019, they have been a Staff Software Engineer at Submittable.

Patrick Berens has a diverse educational background. Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Montana State University-Bozeman between 2008 and 2012. Patrick then went on to earn a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Computer Science from Cornell University between 2012 and 2013. Most recently, they earned a Master of Science - MS in Business Analytics from the University of Montana between 2017 and 2019.
