Lauren Fournier

Lauren Fournier, PhD, serves as the Executive Director of Pleasure Dome, a Toronto-based organization dedicated to film and media arts. In addition to this role, Lauren is a University Professor at the Creative School and at the School of Image Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University, where responsibilities include leading the Documentary Media MFA Program. Lauren also holds university professorships at the University of Toronto and previously at McMaster University, focusing on curriculum development and innovative course design. As an elected representative on the Committee for Contingent Labor in the Profession for the Modern Language Association, Lauren addresses key issues affecting non-tenure-track educators. An accomplished author, Lauren has published a book with The MIT Press and writes a Substack newsletter titled "Working Writer," exploring socioeconomic topics. Lauren's extensive education includes multiple degrees from prestigious institutions such as Stanford University and York University, with a focus on visual studies, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
