Sam Sudar is an experienced software engineer with a background in both academia and industry. Currently employed at Substack since November 2021, Sam has previously contributed to projects at Google, focusing on Chrome for Emerging Markets and the Dataflow team within Google Cloud. Prior to these roles, Sam worked as a graduate researcher in Gaetano Borriello's lab, developing technology for emerging regions, and has held various internships at companies such as Google and Yelp. Sam holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington, where multiple degrees were earned, including Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and additional Bachelor's degrees in Philosophy, English Literature, and Neurobiology.
