Vicky Bailes has a diverse work experience in the healthcare sector. Vicky started their career as a Community Staff Nurse/District Nurse at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2003. Vicky then worked as a Senior Staff Nurse and Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care at Saint Michael's Hospice before becoming the CQC Registered Manager and Assistant Head of the Hospice Outreach Team. Vicky also served as the Community Services Manager at Saint Michael's Hospice. Vicky has held roles at The Royal British Legion as a Deputy Manager and at Herriot Hospice Homecare as a Clinical Lead. Most recently, they worked as a Senior Manager for Older Peoples' and Mental Health Services at Catholic Care (Diocese of Leeds). Currently, they are the Quality and Clinical Governance Lead at Sue Ryder.

Vicky Bailes has a diverse education history. Vicky first attended Ripon Grammar School, where they completed their A Levels. Afterwards, they enrolled at the University of Leeds and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in BHSc Adult Nursing. Vicky continued their education at the same university and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care. Vicky also received training from Mental Health First Aid England and became a Mental Health First Aider. Vicky further enhanced their skills in leadership through an Inspirational Leadership certificate from Quarterdeck. Additionally, they gained practical experience as a Bereavement support volunteer practitioner at Saint Micheals Hospice. Vicky expanded their expertise by completing a Trainer certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support from Curve learning. In the future, they plan to pursue a Diploma in Indian Head Massage from York Holistic Training and receive Silver Quality Improvement Training from Improvement Academy. In 2008, Vicky attended Leeds Beckett University, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) Specialist Practitioner degree. Vicky aims to broaden their leadership skills by participating in the Empowering Sustainable Leadership program offered by the Florence Nightingale Foundation. Currently, they are enrolled in an Apprenticeship with NHS Leadership Academy Rosalind Franklin Award Level 7 at Arden University.
