Mscs Derek Albert

Derek Albert, MSCS, has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Derek began their career as a Reconnaissance Marine in the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion/2nd Force Reconnaissance Company from November 1997 to August 2002. Derek then served as an Intelligence Officer in the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 312 from January 2009 to December 2010. From January 2011 to June 2015, they worked as the Intelligence Division Deputy at the Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Center. Derek joined the United States Marine Corps in August 1995 and continued their service as an Intelligence Officer until August 2016. In 2016, they transitioned to the private sector and worked as the Cybersecurity Acquisition Program Manager at Summaria Systems Inc until June 2018. Derek then served as a Cybersecurity SME at JJR Solutions, LLC from June 2018 to September 2019. Currently, Derek is working as a Cybersecurity SME at Sumaria Systems, Inc.

Derek Albert obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from Norwich University from 2003 to 2007. Derek later pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from the same institution. Derek Albert also holds additional certifications including CISSP from (ISC)², ITIL v3 from ITIL Certified, and Security + from CompTIA.
