Tonya Deem is an accomplished legal professional and community leader with extensive experience in board governance and organizational development. Currently serving on the Board of Trustees at Summit School since 2016, Tonya has played a key role in policy setting and member recruitment. As a long-term member of The Women's Fund of Winston-Salem, Tonya has contributed to broadening the fund's membership and sustainability through corporate sponsorships. As Chair of the Board of Directors for RiverRun International Film Festival from 2014 to 2016, Tonya successfully expanded the festival's offerings and facilitated a leadership transition. Previously, as a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, Tonya represented clients in complex legal disputes. Tonya also led the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County in a significant capital campaign for the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts. A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law with honors, Tonya also holds a BA in History and Anthropology from Wake Forest University.
