Ben Boyd

Ben Boyd has held various senior technology positions throughout their career. Ben most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer at SumOfUs, starting in January 2023. Prior to that, they were the VP of Product & Engineering at Exotanium from July 2021 to November 2022. Ben also served as the Chief Technology Officer at USATestprep from March 2019 to June 2021 and at Avaaz.org from February 2016 to March 2019.

Before that, they worked at Narrative Content Group as the Vice President of Product and Engineering from April 2014 to January 2016. In this role, Ben built an internal development team, migrated properties to a new CMS, and implemented a Django-based CMS to support rapid deployment of new properties.

Ben's experience also includes being the Head of Technology at TapShield from October 2013 to March 2014, where they led the rebuilding of a personal safety app and built a highly-available REST API and emergency responder monitoring system. Prior to that, they worked at Discovery Communications, where they held various roles such as Development Manager, Senior Mobile Developer, and Lead Web Developer from 2007 to 2013. In these roles, Ben developed mobile apps and content platforms, managed vendor relationships, and contributed to strategic planning and reorganization efforts.

Ben Boyd earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science from The University of Georgia, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. Later, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the same institution, studying between 2005 and 2007.
