Sam Thorne

Sam Thorne is a higher education consultant and PFHEA specialist in strategic change and quality enhancement within higher education. They have extensive experience, including serving as Head of Student Success at The Open University Business School, where they developed a Student Retention and Progression Strategy that significantly improved student outcomes. Sam's current role as Programme Director/Consultant at SUMS Consulting focuses on business analysis, project work related to student success, and technology-enhanced learning. They hold multiple advanced degrees, including an MA in Online and Distance Education and an MA in Creative Writing, both attained with distinction from The Open University. Currently pursuing a PhD in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, Sam continues to contribute to the field.
