John Contois

John H. Contois, PhD, DABCC, FAACC founded Sun Diagnostics in 2012 as a “laboratory solutions provider” to provide products for labs and IVD manufacturers to simplify validation experiments and improve quality of testing. John has many years’ experience as Laboratory Director in both hospital and commercial laboratories, including Quest Diagnostics, the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and LipoScience. John has also helped many laboratories as a Consultant, primarily focused on quality assurance, method validation and regulatory compliance.

John was active in the Lipoproteins and Vascular Diseases Division of the AACC for many years, serving as Associate Editor of the “Fats of Life” newsletter from 2004 to 2009, Editor from 2015 to 2016, and lead author of a position statement on Apolipoprotein B and Cardiovascular Risk. John currently serves on the Editorial Boards of Clinica Chimica Acta, Practical Laboratory Medicine and the Journal of Clinical Lipidology. He has published more than 50 articles and book chapters, mostly in the area of lipids and lipoproteins.
