Joann Phan

Joann Phan is a Data Scientist and Lab Supervisor at Sun Genomics. Joann has a wide range of experience in genomic, transcriptomic, and metagenomic data analysis, as well as volatile biomarker identification using gas chromatography mass spectrometry. Joann has also published 11 papers and presented their findings at 6 conferences.

Joann's previous positions include Laboratory Assistant at UC Irvine and Laboratory Technician at the University of Southern California. In these roles, Joann gained experience in aseptic techniques, experimental procedures, and data analysis in R. Joann also trained and supervised undergraduate student researchers in these areas.

Joann Phan received their Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Irvine. Joann also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from University of Southern California, as well as an Associate's degree in Natural Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Humanities from Pasadena City College.
