James Charles has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. James started out as a Project Intern at Johns Hopkins Distributed Systems and Networks Lab in 2014. The following year, they worked as a Certified Apple Product Professional at Johns Hopkins Technology Store before becoming a Mobile App Security Engineering Intern at Booz Allen Hamilton in May 2015. In January 2015, they became a Contributor in Open Source Survivable SCADA at Johns Hopkins Distributed Systems & Networks Lab. In 2016, James co-founded and became CEO of Fractal Technology before starting as Director of Software Engineering at SUNAYU in July 2016. In June 2016, they became Chief Scientist at SUNAYU and led this role until May 2023. James also became the CEO of Curuvar in August 2021.
James Charles attended The Johns Hopkins University from 2012 to 2016, where they studied Computer Engineering. During their time there, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering.
