Based on the provisions of the constitution and laws, the thinking of qualitative and sustainable cooperatives for economic prosperity and social transformation, to help share members to live a modern and organized life simply and easily in the community, this Sunbarshi Multipurpose Co-operative Limited (SMCL) was established having working areas all overKathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur districts following the Bagmati Province Cooperative Act 2076 enacted under the Nepal Government Cooperative Act 2074, on 8th of Bhadra 2078. The head office of SMCL is located at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, Samakhusi, and service centers shall be expanded with the approval of the regulatory body as required.
While the government has confirmed the importance of cooperatives as one of the main pillars under the three-pillar policy of the economy, following the cooperative guidelines presented by the International Cooperative Federation, all the members of SMCL are actively participating in every activity related to the standard of living, and to ensure the safe financial freedom and future of the members, the proper utilization of capital, as well as a significant contribution to the social and economic development of the members through technical knowledge, skills, and training. In addition, giving financial literacy through cooperative education is the need of the day in which we are seriously involved. 
Facing various irregularities and challenges in the current cooperative market, we have always been committed to corporate governance by complying with cooperative laws, rules, regulations, and instructions issued at various times in terms of paid-up capital, deposit collection, loan collection, profit generation, and business. We pledge to all shareholders that we will continue to operate the organization more strongly in the future, identify the needs of the members, and play a leading role in fulfilling them .
