Andy Vella

Andy Vella has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Andy is currently the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Sunblink since January 2024. Prior to this, they held the position of VP of Engineering from August 2021 to January 2024.

Before joining Sunblink, Andy Vella was the CTO and Co-founder of Punch List from February 2019 to May 2021. Andy played a key role in building the company's technology stack and deploying mobile apps on iOS and Android using React Native.

From September 2017 to January 2019, Andy Vella served as the VP and General Manager of Self Aware Games at Big Fish Games. Andy was responsible for overseeing development and business operations for the studio's social casino games, handling a team of 100+ employees.

Andy Vella also held various managerial and engineering positions at Big Fish Games, including VP of Engineering and Executive Producer from December 2015 to September 2017, Senior Director of Engineering from September 2013 to December 2015, Senior Engineering Manager from August 2012 to September 2013, and Lead Engineer from January 2010 to August 2012. In these roles, they played a significant role in driving operational efficiency, managing teams, and overseeing technical planning for various projects.

Prior to their tenure at Big Fish Games, Andy Vella worked as a Core Engineer at Telltale Games from January 2009 to January 2010, where they contributed to the development and improvement of production tools and implemented a new packaging system for game assets.

Their career in the gaming industry also includes working as a Software Engineer at Factor 5 from May 2006 to December 2008. During this time, they contributed to the development and design of gameplay systems, scripting frameworks, and debugging tools.

From 2002 to 2006, Andy Vella attended the DigiPen Institute of Technology, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
