Ryan Murray

Ryan Murray has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Ryan is currently the Co-Founder of Sundeck, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to that, they were a Committer - Apache Iceberg at The Apache Software Foundation starting from March 2021. Before these roles, Ryan worked at Dremio where they held various positions including Principal Architect, Manager of the Open Source Software Engineering Team, OSS Developer, and Principal Consulting Engineer between 2019 and 2022.

Ryan also has experience at UBS, where they held positions such as FRC Head of Data Engineering, eFRC Head of Data Science, Team Lead, and Quantitative Trader from 2011 to 2019. Additionally, they worked as a Consultant at Imperial College London from 2009 to 2011 and as a Visiting Researcher at the National Research Council from 2006 to 2009.

Ryan Murray completed their education with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Windsor, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Ryan then pursued their passion for Physics further at the University of Waterloo, where they obtained a PhD from 2006 to 2011. Ryan'sdoctoral research focused on the intense laser matter interactions, specifically in the field of Computational/Theoretical Physics.
