John Kimotho

John joined Mirova Mirova SunFunder in January 2023 and is responsible for investments in East Africa. With more than ten years of infrastructure investment experience, both as a developer and a funder, John brings a wealth of expertise to the role. Prior to joining the company, he spent seven years at African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), where he executed deals across power and energy, transport and mobility, and digital infrastructure sectors. In addition, John has held roles as a Project Finance Manager for Amu Power and as an Investment Associate for Quantum Power, where he worked on developing renewable energy projects in Africa. He holds a BSc in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi and has completed a course on Private Power Projects in Africa at the University of Cape Town. He is also a graduate of the CIFA program from KASNEB Kenya.
