Omar Kotb is a seasoned power systems engineer with a PhD in power system stability and control from KTH (2018) and an MSc in electrical and computer engineering from OntarioTech (2011). With a BSc in electrical power engineering from Cairo University (2008), Omar is well-versed in modeling HVDC and FACTS controllers for RMS and EMT simulation packages. Currently, Omar serves as a Senior Power Systems Engineer at Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd., focusing on power system studies and grid code compliance for PV and BESS projects. Previously, Omar held various roles within the engineering sector, including System Studies Engineer at Hitachi Energy and Design Engineer at ABB Inc.
