Ruth Clauser has an extensive work experience that spans multiple companies. Ruth began their career at Sunoco in 1992 as a Manager of Marine Operations and stayed with the company until 2006 where they served as Manager of HR & Labor Relations. In 2007, they became the Director of Recruitment and Educational Programs at Sunoco and later in 2009, they were promoted to the role of President of the Sunoco Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy. In 2018, Ruth joined WHYY as the Vice President and later became the Senior VP and Chief Human Resource Officer. Ruth is currently still in this position.

Ruth Clauser obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and Finance from Rider University in 1975. Ruth then pursued further education in Human Resources, Labor Relations Certification at Cornell University from 2000 to 2003. In addition, they also obtained an HR Certification in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Cornell University's ILR School from 2000 to 2002. Ruth Clauser also holds a Bachelor's of Science degree and another Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and Finance from Rider University.
