Derek Tomasi is an MSc/MEng qualified aerospace engineer with over 12 years of experience in the renewable energy sector as a technical consultant and project engineer. They specialize in wind and solar PV power plants and have supported international developers and lenders on over 12 GW of renewable energy projects worldwide. Currently, Derek serves as a senior renewable energy advisor at RINA Consulting, managing engineering consultancy projects across Europe, MENA, Africa, and Central Asia. Previously, they held positions at REpower Systems SE and OST Energy, focusing on project engineering and renewable energy advisory services. Derek also completed their Master’s thesis in aerospace engineering at Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia before becoming a partner at Sunprime in 2020.
