The Surgical Performance Enhancement and Robotics (SuPER) Centre is a multidisciplinary research and innovation hub at McGill focused on advancing the future of surgery through robotics, artificial intelligence, mixed reality, and image-guided technologies. Our mission is to develop next-generation surgical systems that improve precision, decision-making, training, and patient outcomes across a wide range of specialties.

At SuPER, we bring together clinicians, engineers, computer scientists, and industry partners to design and validate transformative technologies in surgical robotics, AI-enabled workflow intelligence, augmented and mixed reality, navigation, and data-driven surgical performance enhancement. Our work spans the full innovation pipeline, from fundamental research and prototype development to preclinical validation, clinical translation, and commercialization.

Since its inception, SuPER has built a highly collaborative ecosystem with active trainees, academic partners, hospitals, and industrial collaborators, while also contributing to the creation of multiple medtech startups. We are committed not only to scientific excellence, but also to training the next generation of innovators who will shape safer, smarter, and more connected surgical care.
