Nik Caryotakis is a software engineer with experience in a variety of roles. From 2022 to present, they have worked as a software engineer at SuperBill and as a software engineer intern at Benchling. In 2021, they were a software engineer intern at Verily Life Sciences, where they evaluated various off-the-shelf NLP and ML tools for performing medical coding and analyzing EHR data with the Data Infrastructure and Data Science teams. Nik also worked with the Clinical Data Management team to build a prototype. In 2020, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Bejerano Lab, where they refined the backend and frontend of AMELIE, a machine learning tool to aid clinicians in diagnosing patients with Mendelian diseases. Nik worked closely with clinicians and engineers to optimize user experience, patient throughput, and system reliability. From 2018 to present, they have been a varsity water polo player at Stanford University, as well as a water polo coach and counselor at Stanford Water Polo Club and Camps, where they develop and coaches practices for the club's high school teams, demonstrates drills in and out of the water, and serves as a counselor for the two weeks of camps every summer.
Nik Caryotakis attended Stanford University from 2018 to 2022, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Nik then continued their education at Stanford University, graduating in 2023 with a Master of Science in Computer Science.
