Darryl Young

Darryl Young, BS, MBA, is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in managing application services and infrastructure within government organizations. Currently serving as the Assistant Deputy Director and Chief Technology Officer at the California State Lottery since September 2013, Darryl oversees critical operations involving vendor contract management, enterprise application delivery, and technology operations. Prior roles include Chief of Data and Information Architecture at the Employment Development Department, where Darryl directed efforts for a major DB2 database platform, and Enterprise Test Manager at the California Public Employees' Retirement System, focusing on software testing methodologies. Earlier experience encompasses leadership positions at the State Water Resources Control Board and the Franchise Tax Board, contributing to the development of complex IT solutions and data warehouse architecture. Darryl holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and dual Bachelor's degrees in Management Information Systems and Marketing from California State University-Sacramento.
