Mats Dodd

Mats Dodd is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Supernormal, where they focus on backend development and machine learning within a startup environment. Previously, Mats served as a Software Engineer at Nestment, specializing in modeling and deployment of traditional tabular ML and agentic workflows. Mats earned a Master's degree in Data Science and an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, where they were also a member of the D1 Varsity Rugby team. Fluent in English, French, and Swedish, Mats holds Swedish, Swiss, and Canadian passports and is currently engaged in research focused on causal inference. In their spare time, Mats is developing Poliwatch, a research tool for journalists investigating money in politics.
