A community created to empower women through skateboarding. Originally established in Gisborne, New Zealand in 2019 but have been operating primarily in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand since May 2024. We offer skateboarding lessons completely free thanks to local funders (Currently funded by Sports Hawkes Bay). Our aim is to encourage girls and women of all ages to learn how to skateboard and to eliminate the intimidation factors of skateparks being heavily male dominated. We want skateparks to be a safe space for ALL, and we have achieved this one group lesson at a time. By being a part of the Girls skateboarding in New Zealand movement, we hope that one day skateboarding won't be labelled as a "boys" sport.
