Jessa Gegax

Jessa Gegax has gained diverse work experience in various roles. Starting in 2022, Jessa joined Surescripts as an Information Security Testing Analyst, where they conducted penetration tests, managed third-party testing, and supported the blue team with investigation and remediation.

Before that, they worked at the University of Wyoming from 2020 to 2022. As a CEDAR Undergraduate Student Researcher, they published a paper on training privacy-preserving deep neural networks and contributed to cyber security research projects. Additionally, they worked as a Student Frontend Web Developer and participated in an REU program.

In 2019, Jessa served as an International Project Manager at Engineers Without Borders USA. Jessa successfully collaborated with professional engineers on an Alternative Analysis report and fostered a healthy team environment.

Jessa also gained experience as a Research and Development Intern at LOSCO in 2018, where they contributed to R&D projects. Furthermore, they worked as a Congressional Office Summer Intern for US Senator Tom Udall in 2019, where they studied immigration policy, organized educational programs, and assisted with office tasks.

Lastly, in 2019, Jessa worked at the University of Wyoming as a Summer Team Leader, guiding and encouraging underrepresented youth in STEM fields and higher education.

Jessa Gegax began their education journey in 2014 at Centennial High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma in 2018. Following that, from 2016 to 2018, they enrolled in a Dual Enrollment program at New Mexico State University, although the specific field of study is unknown. Moving forward, they attended the University of Wyoming from 2018 to 2022, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Jessa also pursued additional certifications, including the GIAC Cloud Security Essentials (GCLD) from GIAC Certifications, which they obtained in January 2023, and a 200-HR Yoga Teacher Training certification from Yoga Alliance, which they received in April 2022.
