Vice President, Epic Health Systems at Surescripts

Katie Blando has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Katie started their career in 1993 as an Operations Specialist at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. In 1994, they joined Automated Healthcare as a Sales Executive, where they sold enterprise software applications to large community hospitals and integrated health networks. Katie worked there until 2000.

From 2000 to 2001, Katie worked as a Regional Sales Manager at Sybase. Katie then joined Authoria as a Regional Sales Manager from 2002 to 2004. In 2004, they became the Owner of Slim and Tone, where they launched a franchise business and managed all aspects of the business.

In 2005, Katie became the Director of Sales at McKesson, a role they held until 2006. From 2006 to 2011, they worked as a Client Executive at McKesson Health IT, selling enterprise software applications to hospitals and health networks.

In 2011, Katie joined Merge Healthcare as a Strategic Account Manager, responsible for managing premier health systems. Katie worked there until 2014. In 2014, they joined Surescripts as a Key Account Executive, where they sold and managed large accounts including Hospital Corporation of America, Mayo Clinic, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and the VA Health System. Katie increased revenue for the HCA account by 37%. In 2015, they were promoted to Regional Vice President, and later, in 2020, they became the Vice President of Epic Health Systems at Surescripts.

Most recently, in 2022, Katie became a Founding Member of Chief, a private network for senior women leaders to strengthen their leadership journey and effect change.
