Michael Perzel

Michael Perzel has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Michael started their career as a Research Assistant at MAST Laboratory in 2008. In 2009, they joined Open Systems International as a Project Engineer III. Michael then worked as an Electrical Engineer at Zachry Engineering from 2011 to 2014, where they designed power distribution systems for utility balance of plant (BOP) systems. Since 2014, Michael has been with Surescripts, initially serving as a Principal DevOps Engineer and later transitioning to the role of Director of Operations and DevOps Engineering. In their role at Surescripts, they ensured smooth transition to live operation, managed infrastructure risks, and maintained high availability for the company's systems across multiple data centers. One of their achievements was developing a service discovery/registration platform for microservices, improving application monitoring and simplifying load balancer configuration.

Michael Perzel received their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where they attended from 2006 to 2010. Prior to attending the University of Minnesota, Michael Perzel graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 2006. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Intermediate Flux certification from InfluxData in May 2021 and has also been certified as an Engineer In Training by NCEES.
