Sameer Ashfaq

Sameer Ashfaq has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Sameer started their professional career as a Computer Lab Supervisor and Teaching Assistant at MSU in 1999. Later, they worked as a Student Manager at University Dining Service. In 2000, Sameer joined CP Internet as a Database Engineer/Administrator, where they developed a custom billing application and designed a custom database. Sameer also worked on implementing a new billing system using MS SQL 2000 Server. In the same year, they worked as a Database Developer at MSU.

In 2004, Sameer joined HighJump Software as a Software Programmer/Business Analyst, where they provided maintenance on CRM applications and developed new features. Sameer then moved to Araz Group in 2005 as a Software Developer/Project Manager. There, they developed an application for data extraction and customer billing, implemented DTS packages for data warehousing projects, and automated medical claim payments using SQL Server and SQL Store Procedures.

In 2007, Sameer joined Boston Scientific as a Cognos Administrator/Software Developer II. Sameer collaborated with integration teams, installed Cognos 8, and led a team for a Cognos 8.4 upgrade. In 2010, they briefly worked at Target as an Engineer before joining Surescripts LLC as a Sr Data Delivery Engineer. At Surescripts, Sameer led a team to define data delivery protocols and processes, implemented Big Data BI reports and data marts, and defined SQL syntax for data retrieval from Hadoop using Cloudera Impala.

Overall, Sameer has a strong background in database administration, software development, project management, and data analytics.

Sameer Ashfaq began their education in 1996 at Wichita State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. After completing this program in 1997, they transferred to Butler Community College in 1997, where they studied Computer Science for a year. In 1998, Sameer enrolled at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Computer Information Science.
