Gavin Cooper

Gavin Cooper has a diverse and progressive work experience. Gavin started their career as an IT Assistant at George & Harding Construction Ltd, where they successfully built a small document management system. Gavin then transitioned to web design and development roles at DUSZA and Redweb, where they showcased their skills in wireframing, frontend development, and client pitching. In 2009, Gavin joined magicseaweed as a Lead Software Engineer, responsible for the surf forecasting service's popular website and mobile apps. Later, Gavin joined Surfline Wavetrak, Inc., starting as a Senior Product Manager, where they brought structure to product development and modeled business impact. Gavin then served as the Director of Product, overseeing product development and collaborating closely with the engineering team to re-platform the Surfline web product. Eventually, they became the Senior Director of Product and Engineering and the VP of Technology, displaying leadership and expertise in technology and product management.

Gavin Cooper attended the University of Plymouth from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a degree in Digital Art & Technology, with a focus on computing and art. Gavin also holds a certification in Firm Level Economics: Consumer and Producer Behavior from Coursera Course Certificates, obtained in 2016.
