We train the hands of surgeons to perform high risks procedures using haptics instead of practicing on patients. Traditional simulation is underutilized (due to faculty time), inaccessible (housed in remote simulation centers), expensive (unsustainable cadaver labs) and ineffective. Most importantly, high stakes skills that require tactile feel have not been replicated outside the OR. 

Our Mission is to create a cost-effective, portable, hands-on real-feel training platform for high-stakes procedures to flatten the learning curve while reducing faculty-burden, boosting healthcare efficiency, and improving patient outcomes.

THE TRAINING SYSTEM:
Developed from the Hand motion of Master Surgeons, 
SurgicalEd VR is a mobile standalone platform w/ small footprint (laptop, proprietary software, VR headset and haptic handpiece) provides ultra-precise training w/:
1)	A realistic virtual Operating Room 
2)	Highly accurate 3D anatomic models (real-patient data)
3)	Real-time visual and auditory alerts to prevent complications
4)	Instantaneous feedback and scoring without need for faculty 
5)	Documentation of progression from novice to proficient for privileging 

Our Surgeon-led TEAM has a first-hand understanding of the challenges surgeons face in teaching trainees procedures that require operating by feel, or learning new procedures themselves. We combine this with the expertise of Motor Control Scientists, Haptic and VR Developers, Human Factors and Evaluation Experts and Healthcare Data Analysts to create a paradigm shift in surgical training with the ultimate goal of impacting patient lives instead of practicing on them.
