Surmont Energy Ltd. is a private Canadian In-Situ oil sands exploration and development company focused on optimal economic recovery of bitumen and heavy oil in Northern Alberta. 

The company is currently active in the Athabasca oil sands region of northeast Alberta where rights to over 19 square miles (50 square kilometres) of contiguous oil sands lands have been secured. The company’s portfolio of oil provides stable, environmentally responsible production and a platform for future growth. Surmont Energy plans to deploy SADG technology in the near term on its properties; and over the longer term on a number of other producing prospects.

In September, 2016  Surmont announced that its application for a Phase 1, 12,000 barrel per day (b/d) Wildwood SAGD Project was approved by the Alberta Government.
