Nick Tran, Ph.D. is an accomplished data scientist and technology leader with extensive experience in various scientific and management roles. Currently serving as a Data Scientist and AI-ML-DS Tech Lead at SPA, Inc. since November 2022, Nick also holds the position of Chief Editor for the Journal of the Department of Defense Research and Engineering (JDR&E) at SURVICE Engineering. As a Senior Program Manager at IT Data Consulting, LLC, and as Program Manager and Chief Technology Officer at Maden Technologies/NOAA and Oceanoco Inc. respectively, Nick engages in strategic consulting and leads research and development efforts in critical areas including chemical and biological detection and CO2 extraction technologies. With a background in managing advanced S&T and R&D research programs for federal agencies and academia, as well as experience as a faculty member, Nick Tran possesses expertise in organic and inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, and environmental science, supported by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin.
