Mike Latimer is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in software engineering and management, currently serving as the Director of Engineering at SUSE since August 2013. Responsible for the development of SUSE's Enterprise Storage (Ceph) and Rancher Desktop products, Mike focuses on creating enterprise solutions for agile application delivery. Previous roles at SUSE include Senior Software Engineering Manager for both Storage and Virtualization, managing teams dedicated to software-defined storage and virtualization technologies respectively. Before SUSE, Mike worked at Novell for nearly two decades in various resolution engineering roles, providing backline support for Linux, eDirectory, and GroupWise. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix and attended Brigham Young University.
