Oliver Ries

Oliver Ries is an experienced technology leader specializing in product management and business operations, currently serving as VP of Product Management and Business Operations for Enterprise Container Management at SUSE since November 2023. Previously, Ries held multiple strategic roles at SUSE, including Chief of Staff at Rancher and Director of Strategy and Transformation, where responsibilities included orchestrating business transformations and expanding the product portfolio. Prior experience at Canonical Ltd. involved various leadership positions, such as Ubuntu Product Strategist and VP of Engineering for the Ubuntu Client Platform. Earlier roles at Novell Inc. and SUSE included managing quality assurance, project management, and engineering teams. Ries holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and a degree in Computer Science from Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm and Georg-Simon-Ohm-Fachhochschule Nürnberg, respectively.
